BUT HOW?
This magic box that you hold in your hand will will allow you to vote during the live theatre show, and you will choose the path that The Companions take.
This musical is written specifically for people who do not like musicals. (We have a hard time imagining what that’s like, but we hear it’s a thing.)
WHAT IS OFF THE BEATEN PATH?
“Off the Beaten Path” is a “Pick Your Path” (choose your own adventure style) fantasy musical that follows a ragtag group of companions seeking a powerful artifact that could destroy the world.
Full of epic battles, sacrifice, love, secrets, intrigue, and a fantasy inspired musical score, the audience ultimately decides the fate of the heroes.
This multi-platform musical experience has over 135 different scripted incarnations (and a secret ending that the audience can unlock) which allows Off the Beaten Path audiences to keep coming back for more.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a live theatrical performance?
Yes and no… The Zoom performance is live, but the songs, choreography and fight scenes are prerecorded from our rehearsals, dress rehearsals and live performances from July 4-6th 2026.
Is this the same cast as the Live workshop production?
Yes. Unless understudies are on due to illness, this is the live and in person cast.
Is the show predetermined?
No! You choose the path of The Companions! Even if you’ve seen us live and in person, odds are, you will not see the same version of the show twice.
What is a workshop performance?
A workshop performance is a show that is still in development which allows directors and producers to witness a proof of concept. Workshops have limited sets, costumes and often with scripts in hand.
I don’t know anything about fantasy and D&D… will I understand the show?
If we have done our jobs correctly, then yes! Fantasy is simply the lens with which we explore these very human characters. We know that fans of Dungeons and Dragons will enjoy the show because of the Easter Eggs we’ve spread throughout… but it is nowhere near necessary to be familiar with D&D.
What if I have feedback?
