Apprentice Composer
Meg McKellar is thrilled to be joining the OBP family, apprenticing as a composer. Meg has been surrounded by music her whole life, from music lessons, to immersing herself in her high school’s percussion ensemble, to musical theatre, and now at university studying Digital Audio. She discovered her passion for creating her own music after graduating high school, starting with little, other than a ukulele and a song in her heart. From there, she has continued to expand her songwriting and composition skills to fully orchestrated pieces for friends and clients on the internet, composing short intros for Twitch streams, themes for podcasts, and even a full EP for her Dungeons & Dragons group.
Though she is new to the composition scene, Meg is passionate about music and the emotional bonds it can create. She is excited to continue honing her craft, drawing inspiration from her favorite modern and classical composers, and enjoys creating vivid imagery with her pieces, picking and choosing motifs and instruments to paint a picture with sound.
When she’s not busy with compositions or school work, Meg enjoys getting out and about exploring the canyons and mountains near her university, cooking and baking, and creating with her friends on podcasts and twitch streams.
