Vocalist
Amanda-Rae Cross is a versatile vocalist and actor with 20+ years of performance experience and extensive training. Amanda-Rae has performed in various live venues across the USA, Canada and Mexico. A highlight for Amanda-Rae was singing at Carnegie Hall with Revv 52 vocal group as part of Deke Sharon’s total vocal live.
Amanda-Rae’s select Calgary theatre credits include productions with FRC, Bonavista Players, StoryBook Theatre, and in 2019 she was nominated for a lead actress CAT award for her role as Nina in Confederation Theatre’s production of Norm Foster’s rom-com Looking. Most recently she had the grooviest honour of playing Jeanie in BrownCow Collective’s HAIR the musical and during this past year as Miss Hannigan in StoryBook Theatre’s special-filmed pandemic production of Annie the musical. Amanda-Rae is no stranger to other art forms and has filmed local Calgary television commercials and recorded voice-overs for television and radio.
Amanda-Rae lives to inspire others to be their best self and does so as a fitness trainer and life coach. Amanda-Rae loves to encourage others in the arts especially her own highly creative, teenaged daughter Ella, who has not only performed in theatre as well, but adores working behind the scenes especially in costumes. For BrownCow Collective’s HAIR, Ella was part of the costume team, especially working on her mother’s costumes and also working on the set.
Amanda-Rae is an open, passionate performer who loves a challenge. She believes there is true strength and power in vulnerability. Amanda-Rae is so inspired by other performers and creative souls; it fuels her fire.
Amanda-Rae is so jazzed to be recording for the OBP team. Huzzah!
