Jonathan Top

Jonathan Top (He/Him) is a writer, director, and actor located in Calgary, Alberta. He’s an experienced theatre divisor, having been involved in writing and acting in 2 recent Ambrose University collaborative theatre projects (Virtue in 2022, and Renascence in 2023), as well as in the creation of his own show, Real, which debuted in this year’s Calgary Fringe Festival. You may also have seen him in Fire Exit Theatre’s recent production of Lucas Hnath’s The Christians, which merged his love of acting with his passion for debate, and he helped to lead and shape the Calgary Zoo’s theatre team since its creation in 2022. Jonathan’s heart is and always will be in making people laugh, and how comedy can be used as a gateway to making meaningful connections with a wide variety of audiences.
